“The Sequestered Dream” - a new song we will be recording at Developing Nations next month for our upcoming EP release.

The song is not actually called “Jane Ho” haha, we just use that title at practice because of the “Ballou-esque” riff towards the end.

Enjoy the video, pictures coming soon…

Additionally- we had some dates fall through for next month, goto Tour Dates and see if you can assist.

“Developing” EP Announcement

We are proud to announce that These Branches will be heading back into the studio this June to record the follow up EP to last year’s “The Payoff” on Kat Kat Records (Order that 7”). What differs from this and every other recording we have done, however, is that we will not be recording this by ourselves- but with producer and engineer Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations in Baltimore, Maryland.

Kevin has worked with several Maryland and D.C. powerhouses such as Pulling Teeth, Magrudergrind and Triac, and recently has put time in with the up-and-coming Code Orange Kids, as well as Piano Becomes the Teeth for their astonishing new album “The Lack Long After.” We believe Kevin has the ability to make our new EP sound amazing, that he has a genuine interest in getting the best out of These Branches and that he is the man we can put faith in while we focus solely on the performance aspect of recording (versus the hundreds of other things we usually are pre-occupied with in the process.) This yet-to-be-titled record will display even more of a genre-bending ”post-hardcore” sonic progression in the vein of the latest EP versus the previous full-length, “This One’s On You.

These Branches have been known for it’s strong commitment to a DIY ethic… so don’t doubt we will still have a heavy hand in all aspects of this album. But we have come to a point where we need to push ourselves as artists and potentially out into new markets, so we feel whole heartedly that this is the right move at this point.

The band will be heading to the studio during off-days from our week long June tour, which is celebrating the 3 year anniversary of our first live show. A label, EP title, tracks and tour dates are still to be announced.
